This purchase features a wrapped package of 20 European sugar packets (40 cubes) in a Gift Box. Our privately labeled sugar cubes are made by Europe's largest sugar maker and are the same as those found in cafés and restaurants throughout Europe.
Our white, medium-fine sugar is made from beets. An estimated 55 to 60% of all sugar produced in the United States comes from beets, and cane sugar is no longer the leading sugar in the U.S. Beet sugar and cane sugar are practically identical, making it almost impossible to distinguish the taste between the two. Beet sugar dissolves a little softer and quicker than cane sugar.
Absinthe is, and has always been, made to taste to one's liking; therefore, the amount of sugar used is purely based on the drinker's preference. During the pre-ban era (before 1915), it was rare to find someone who drank absinthe without first sweetening it with sugar. Hence, the many antique accouterments and ways to add sugar to absinthe.
The sugar does not contain absinthe and can be used wherever sugar is used.
