A sterling silver art piece is crafted from silver alloyed with copper for durability. The metal is melted and shaped—either by hand or through casting—and refined with techniques like engraving or chasing. The finished piece is then polished or treated to enhance its shine, highlighting the skill and artistry behind its creation.
Grande wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) is a perennial herb native to Europe, valued for its silvery-green leaves and distinctive bitter aroma. A key ingredient in traditional absinthe, it contributes the spirit’s complex herbal character and faintly bitter finish. Historically prized for its medicinal and aromatic qualities, grande wormwood has been used for centuries in tonics and herbal remedies. Its essential oils—rich in thujone—lend both potency and mystique, making the plant an enduring symbol of the artistry and allure of absinthe.
Each piece is made to order and is sent directly from Kirk to you. If requested, your initials can be added to the piece, next to Kirk's hallmark.

A traditional absinthe is prepared by pouring a dose of absinthe (usually an
ounce) into an absinthe glass. The grille is then placed on top of the glass. If desired, a sugar cube(s) can be added onto the grille. Ice water is slowly poured or dripped from a fountain or carafe onto the sugar. The water dissolves the sugar, and the cold, sugary mixture then falls through the holes in the grille into the glass of absinthe, releasing oils and perfuming the air with fennel, grand wormwood and anise. The combination also turns milky white as the water joins with the anise in the absinthe.
Once the sugar has dissolved, the grille can be removed and the absinthe sampled. The strength and sweetness can be adjusted by adding more water or sugar to taste. The mix ratio depends on one’s liking - usually 1-part absinthe to 3 to 5 parts water
